The Author

ND Scott was born in what was then called British West Hartlepool, England. During the 70s he boarded at Durham School. Nic then went onto study for his first of three Picture of author degrees at Newcastle upon Tyne. After this and having successfully qualified and trained as a teacher he spent a very short period teaching in Cumbria. He then spent the next 21 years as a commissioned Officer in The British Army. During which he served around the world including a number of operational deployments.

Moves with Spirits published in 2006, was his 1st novel. Prior to this he wrote a travel guide to remote Peru. Nic’s second book, The Zimmerman Cypher is a continuation in the Simon Boeck memoirs. A series of books which detail the life and exploits of Lieutenant Colonel Simon Boeck.

Nic inspiration to write is based on a thirst for books which predates his Army time. A passion which remained dormant whilst he served in the Army. With a wealth of worldly experiences this desire to write was however rekindled whilst posted to Australia in 2003. Since embarking on his writing career Nic has become fairly reliant upon a number of subject matter experts. Of which he has a core of individuals including: an ex SAS Officer, professional psychic, senior police detective and a vastly experienced combat medic. In addition, to help with specific projects, he has sought expertise and advice from a Japanese ballet dancer, American Army Colonel, small arms weapons expert/, eye surgeon and convicted Albanian gangster turned murderer !

Nic retired from the British Army in 2006. The Zimmerman Cypher was penned whilst in retirement based out of Durham City, England. Originally the title was to have been Pyramid Wars however this changed as a result of his desire to embrace and expose the ongoing American conspiracy embroiled within the highest levels of the military reaching all the way to The White House. What has become known as The Wilson Notes date right back to 1917.
Nic has already completed the vast bulk of the preparation and research for the third in the Simon Boeck series. Research which has included extensive work with a full time fire crew ‘watch’, a Scenes of Crime Officer, as well as extensive work into the weird if not scary world of Spontaneous Human Combustion. The working title simply SHC

Nic is married with a grown up daughter. Other than writing, he loves mountain bike riding, keeping very fit, falling off his surf board, cooking and collecting Art Deco, Art Nouveau antiques.

ND Scott is a nom de plume.
